Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team is actively seeking to ensure a fair trial amid extensive media coverage and public scrutiny surrounding his federal sex trafficking case. As jury selection commenced on May 5, 2025, in Manhattan federal court, Combs’ attorneys expressed concerns about potential juror bias due to the pervasive media attention the case has received over the past year and a half.

To address these concerns, the defense proposed a comprehensive questionnaire for prospective jurors, aiming to assess their exposure to media coverage and their views on topics such as sex, drugs, and violence.  The goal is to identify and exclude individuals who may have preconceived notions about Combs’ guilt or innocence.

Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024.  His legal team has also requested the disclosure of the identities of alleged victims to adequately prepare for cross-examination and defense strategies.

The trial, which began with jury selection on May 5, 2025, is expected to continue with opening statements and witness testimonies starting May 12, 2025.
