In a shocking tale of obsession and deception, a Florida woman has been arrested for impersonating a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent to kidnap her ex-boyfriend’s wife.
On April 10, 2025, 52-year-old Latrance Battle entered the hotel where the victim worked, wearing a shirt labeled “ICE” and presenting a sheriff’s office business card along with a hand-held radio to appear credible. The victim, who is in the process of obtaining legal U.S. residency, believed Battle to be a legitimate official and voluntarily accompanied her.
During the drive, Battle confiscated the victim’s phone to prevent her from contacting her husband or attorney. She made threatening comments, implying that the victim had to “suffer the consequences” of her husband’s actions. Instead of taking her to the sheriff’s office as claimed, Battle diverted to an apartment complex. Sensing something was amiss, the victim managed to escape and alert the authorities.
Battle was apprehended the following day while attempting to flee to Alabama. She now faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, robbery by sudden snatching, impersonating a law enforcement officer, and violating probation.
This incident underscores the dangers of impersonating law enforcement officers and the lengths to which individuals may go driven by personal vendettas. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent such occurrences.
