Grab a tissue — today TV history takes a hit. Grady Demond Wilson, the unforgettable actor who brought Lamont Sanford to life on the classic ’70s sitcom Sanford and Son, has died at 79 after a battle with cancer complications. 😢

Wilson — born Grady Demond Wilson on October 13, 1946 — wasn’t just a sitcom sidekick; he was the backbone of one of the most beloved comedy duos of television’s golden era. From tossing shade with Fred Sanford to cracking us up for five seasons on NBC, Demond’s dry wit and grounded charm made Lamont a household name. 🎭📺

He passed away on January 30, 2026, at his home in Palm Springs, California, surrounded by family. His son, Demond Wilson Jr., revealed his death came as a result of complications from cancer, although the type of cancer was never publicly shared. 💔

Beyond the junkyard laughs, Demond had a full-bodied life:

✨ Veteran of the Vietnam War 🇺🇸

✨ Television and film actor (including Baby… I’m Back! and Me and the Kid) 🎬

✨ Author and spiritual voice in later years 📚

✨ Dad of six and husband to Cicely Johnston since 1974 🧡

Fans and starlets alike are flooding social media with tributes — from quoting Lamont’s classic lines to just saying, “You big dummy… we’ll miss you.” 😭✨

Demond Wilson didn’t just act — he lived. And he’ll be remembered for every belly laugh, heartfelt scene, and television moment that made Sanford and Son a timeless classic. 📺❤️

Rest in peace, legend. You gave us joy. You gave us grit. And most of all — you gave us Lamont. 🕊️

Former CNN star Don Lemon — yep, the guy who used to hold the spotlight on live TV — just found himself in handcuffs: federal style 🔥. According to his attorney, federal agents arrested Lemon in Los Angeles on Thursday night while he was reporting from the Grammy Awards.

Why? Because Lemon was present during a controversial protest on January 18 in a church in St. Paul, Minnesota, where anti-ICE demonstrators barged in during a service and caused a huge scene. Federal prosecutors had already tried to charge him earlier, but a magistrate judge refused to sign off on the first attempt — saying there wasn’t enough probable cause.

Lemon insists he was just doing what journalists do best: reporting and documenting. His lawyer blasted the government’s actions as a First Amendment attack and vowed Lemon will “fight these charges vigorously” in court.

At this point, the exact charges are still unclear, but the case has lit up national debate — from press freedom to where protest ends and potential legal trouble begins. ⚖️

The 98th Academy Awards nominations just dropped and WOW — Hollywood is buzzing. In a jaw-dropping twist, Ryan Coogler’s supernatural drama Sinners didn’t just score big — it obliterated records with a whopping 16 nominations, smashing the long-standing Oscars record previously shared by classics like Titanic and La La Land with 14 nods. This is Oscar history, baby. 🏆💥

And it’s not just the sheer volume — it’s the scope. Sinners grabbed nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor (yes, Michael B. Jordan in a rare first nomination 💫), and more. Its troupe of nominations reads like a Hollywood wish list turned reality.

Trailing right behind is Paul Thomas Anderson’s epic One Battle After Another with 13 noms — proof that awards season is still all about prestige cinema excellence. Also on the Best Picture dance card: quirky heartbreakers (Bugonia), big action (F1), gothic chills (Frankenstein), Shakespearean dreams (Hamnet), and globe-trotting gems like Sentimental Value and The Secret Agent.

But hold up — there’s tea. Some expected crowd-pleasers didn’t make the cut at all. Mega musicals and chart-topping stars from Wicked: For Good were completely shut out, and beloved box-office beasts like Avatar: Fire & Ash didn’t score the Best Picture love many predicted. 👀 Talk about snub season!

There are new categories now too — including Best Casting, an Oscar first — proving the Academy is feeling bold and adventurous. 🌟 And yes, the whole affair is set to go down March 15, hosted (once again) by Conan O’Brien and broadcast live for all the glitz and glamour.

Oh, and did we mention the international flavor this year? Non-English films and performances are popping up everywhere — people are praising that beautifully diverse lineup. 🌍✨
